CHARACTERISTICS |
| |
| PP -
Polypropylene |
Polypropylene has a
low specific weight and high chemical resistance and tensile strength.
It is more rigid than polyethylene and thanks to its characteristics, it
is used to manufacture mechanical parts where high tensile strength and
corrosion resistance are required. Its resistance to acids makes
polypropylene ideal for use in chemical industry. It is adapted for
food-grade use in the natural colour, whereas in black it is often used
for the manufacturing of worm screws. |
| PE 500 -
Polyethylene 500 |
Polyethylene 500,000
molecules is certified for use in contact with food, it has low specific
weight and a particularly low friction coefficient. These features,
together with good impact strength and competitive prices, have led to
its extensive use in the food and drink industry, to manufacture
conveyors, guides, starts, etc. |
| PE 1000 -
Polyzene 1000 |
Polyzene 1000 or
polyethylene 1,000,000 molecules combines the characteristics of PE 500
(food-grade, low friction coefficient and low specific weight) with a
particular impact strength. It is suitable for use in humid environments
or those in contact with water because it is hygroscopic. It is used to
manufacture worm screws and mechanical parts, when good smoothness and
impact strength are required. Furthermore, it is particularly suitable
for worm screws and conveyors for glass bottles, glasses and jars. |
| PVC -
Polyvinylchloride |
The use of
PVC has been reduced for environmental reasons and has been replaced by
other polymers. It has a good hardness and rigidity. It has an excellent
chemical resistance (acids, alkalis, etc.) and for this reason it is
often used to manufacture parts for highly corrosive environments. |
| POM C - Acetal
Resin |
Acetal resin (polyoxymethylene,
POM) C is a copolymer obtained from the polymerisation of formaldehyde.
POM is characterised by an excellent hardness and rigidity. Its
excellent resistance to oils and solvents, its dimensional stability,
its low friction coefficient and excellent abrasion resistance, add to
the positive features of this material. It is used to manufacture worms
screws and mechanical parts when high quality surfaces, high impact
strength and compression resistance, as well as dimensional stability
are required. |
| PET - Arnite |
The main
characteristics of Arnite are its low friction coefficient, its
excellent dimensional stability and compression resistance. It is an
extremely hard material, approved and thoroughly used in the food
industry. It is often used to manufacture bushings, guides, cams, slides
and any other mechanical part for which high precision (narrow
tolerances), hardness and stability are required. |
| PA6G - Cast
Nylon 6 |
PA6G is a cast and
polymerised polyamide. It is a very hard material and it is more
crystalline than standard nylon. It has great wear and compression
resistance, as well as high tensile strength. Furthermore, it is a
self-lubricating material and, in certain applications, no additional
lubricant is required. It is particularly suitable to manufacture
notched wheels and gears, but it is also ideal for guides, supports and
worm screws, for which high resistance to wear is required. It is
hygroscopic like standard nylon, which makes it unsuitable for the
contact with water. It is not normally used in contact with food. |
| PA6G+MOS -
Cast Nylon+MOS |
PA6G is added with a
specific percentage of MOS (molybdenum disulphide). This means that this
material has both the characteristics of polymerised cast nylon,
described above, and improved smoothness and reduced humidity absorption
capacity. It is used for the same purposes as PA6G and it enables us to
manufacture particularly hard worm screws with increased smoothness. |
